Maureen Brennan has over 20 years’ experience in the health information management field. After several years working across all general health information areas she specialized in trauma. The work spanned from developing a hospital trauma registry program, collecting, analyzing, and reporting trauma data for trauma registries, to assisting and coordinating trauma research and performance improvement. Maureen has also led hospital teams through the Trauma Association of Canada accreditation process.
Ms. Brennan has a diploma in Health Information Management as well as a Masters Certificate in Project Management through the Schulich and Sprott School of Business, Carleton University.
Over her career, Ms. Brennan has been actively promoting the importance of high quality and the use of accurate trauma data through various means including the Trauma Association of Canada (TAC), as the co-founder and past Chair of the Trauma Registry Information Specialists of Canada (TRISC) from 2005-2012 and as the Co-chair of the National Trauma Registry Advisory Committee (NTRAC). Ms. Brennan was also the Trauma Association of Canada lead for the development of the National Trauma Registry Data Dictionary.
Ms. Brennan was also involved provincially as Co-chair of the Ontario Trauma Registry Advisory Committee (TRAC) and a member of the Ontario Trauma Advisory Committee (OTAC) and Performance Measurement subcommittee.
As a longstanding faculty member of the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM) since 1998, she has taught numerous AIS classes in person and on-line.
Ms. Brennan has co-authored numerous trauma and injury related articles, co-authored the Injury Surveillance and Trauma Registry Information Management Orientation Manual and served as a peer reviewer for the Journal “Injury”. She has also performed consulting roles developing code maps with the AIS and ICD coding systems.
In 2014, Ms. Brennan joined the T6 team. Her responsibilities include the development and management of the metadata, training, quality assurance, technical coding specialist and the development of the T6 discovery and application configuration process.
